Year End and Looking Forward

Well it's New Years Eve and 2011 will soon be behind us. Next year will be a year of changes, with some adjustments needing to be made in life, but it will be an exciting time.

I've never really been one to make New Years Resolutions, and I don't really think I'm going to start now, but I do have some aspirations for next year:

1) Read more than I did this year.
2) Maintain my blog better than I did this year.
3) Write more! (I keep thinking that I want to be a writer for a living, but I rarely allow myself time to develop my writing, blaming work and Uni and almost everything else... But let's face it: I've spent 120 hours in the last month and a half playing one computer game. I think it's really all coming down to time management...)
4) Lose some weight. now I'm by no means big, but really, I just want to fit back into all my clothes that I used to wear but can now because doing the button up at the waist has become impossible, or painful at best.
5) Generally I want to follow up on projects sooner after I think of them. Not keep putting them off.

But, you might ask as readers of my blog, what's in all of this for me? Well I'll tell you. Between points 1 and 2 I think your experience of my blog will be much more regular, interesting and varied.

For starters, as I've talked about before I'm going to be launching a new series of posts called JudgeABook which ignores what's written in a book and purely judges it by it's cover. I know we all say we shouldn't, and I believe it too, but the idea is to be more a critique of cover design than anything else. You can read all about it HERE And by all means, join in yourself! Let me know if you do. I'd love to read other people's thoughts. I've also be tacking general thoughts on Twitter. so feel free to join in the conversation:

Then, in lieu of my other blog, that I shut down because it was too difficult to maintain I'm launching Fairy Tale Friday. Each Friday I'll talk about a fairy tale or adaption of one in the style that I used on my other blog. Just for people who, like me, like that sort of thing.

I'll also be aiming to review at least one YA/children's fiction book and one picture book each week. Then I'll write others as I think of them.

But keep in mind, this has to fit in around all the reading I need to do for work, and my Masters AND trying to write whenever I get the time. So I'll endeavor to do all this, but it's not a New Years Resolution, because I've never really kept one of those before.

Hope you enjoy!
