JudgeABook: Marcelo In The Real World by Francisco X. Stork

Welcome to my 3rd JudgeABook post!  To catch up on what it's all about, look HERE or at PREVIOUS POSTS.

Marcelo In The Real World by Francisco X. Stork

I've seen this cover floating around the blogs I follow but haven't actually stopped to read more about it yet. But each time I see it, it jumps out at me. This might have something to do with the fact that it's a little bit like what I have in mind for the cover of one of my books. And by 'a little bit like' I actually mean it's not really like it, but I love the use of silhouettes and in my book the night sky is important. But that said, there's plenty that could be read into this picture, from what I've learned about reading images, but I'll try and bring that across in my synopsis/story based on the cover image.

How many years had Marcelo played in the tree house build by father? He thought back to being a child and climbing the rope ladder for the first time with such wonder and amazement. 'Thought back', he chuckled to himself, he was barely more than a child, and his sweaty palm in the hand of this girl made him feel clumsy and childish like he was about to stumble into adulthood. Leaving the tree house behind, the city, the real world, adulthood, awaited.
